What are plastic surgery problems?

Image
  ·         Plastic surgery alters certain areas of your body to treat medical issues or enhance appearance. Surgeons might perform procedures on your face, neck, breasts, stomach, arms and legs. Reconstructive surgery repairs defects or injuries and restores function. Cosmetic surgery enhances appearance for nonmedical reasons. Plastic surgery takes its name from the Greek word “plastikos,” which means to “form” or “mold.” It includes a group of procedures that alter certain areas of your body. These include your face, neck, breasts, stomach, arms and legs. The terms “reconstructive plastic surgery” and “cosmetic surgery” may seem similar, but they represent different types of procedures For more details :  Plastic Surgery 2023

What is the Risk of Plastic Surgery ?

Image
Risks of Plastic Surgery Poor Cosmetic Outcome : This may be the greatest fear of a plastic surgery patient: a result that not only fails to improve appearance but actually makes one's appearance worse than before the surgery. Scarring : One of the greatest risks to achieving an attractive outcome, scarring is not always predictable, but can be controlled in most cases. Patients can decrease the risk of scarring by not smoking, eating well after surgery and following the surgeon's directions during recovery. Nerve Damage or Numbness : In some cases, nerves may be damaged or severed during any surgical procedure. The result is more obvious, however, if it is a facial nerve. When those nerves are injured, the outcome can be the inability to make facial expressions or drooping of the eyes (ptosis) or mouth. How is plastic surgery done on face?

Image
A face-lift is a cosmetic surgical procedure to create a younger look in the face. The procedure can reduce sagging skin. It can also help smooth folds of skin on the cheeks and jawline. A face-lift is also called a rhytidectomy. During a face-lift, a flap of skin on each side of the face is pulled back. Tissues below the skin are altered, and excess skin is removed. This gives the face a more youthful shape. A neck lift is often done as part of a face-lift. It reduces fat and sagging skin on the neck. A face-lift won't correct damage from sun exposure, such as fine lines and wrinkles. Other cosmetic procedures can address the look or quality of the skin itself. Can plastic surgery change identity?

Image
Undergoing a cosmetic surgery procedure is a way to improve your thoughts about your own body, which will go a long way in giving your self-confidence a real boost. However, some psychologists also believe too much plastic surgery can actually lead to identity crisis. According to Dr. Vivian Diller, a psychologist and author, some patients who undergo major appearance-changing procedures tend to think that the imperfection has now become a part of their identity, which may lead to serious identity crisis.   As reported in the British newspaper, the Daily Mail, the psychologists also believe that the problem occurs when people overlook the new changes made to the facial characteristics. For instance, some people recognize others with their small eyes or thick lips, and this identity suffers when these features are changed. For more details : PlasticSurgeryconference

Will plastic surgery improve in the future?

Image
All the trends indicate that  plastic surgery will continue to grow in popularity as it becomes less invasive and more affordable . What's more, as doctors continue to take advantage of the latest research, new technologies and innovative techniques will improve the quality of procedures even further. The most significant change is the meteoric rise of nonsurgical procedures—mostly injectables like Botox, but also including things like laser skin resurfacing and DOT therapy. In 1997, as noninvasive procedures were just hitting the market, approximately 750,000 were performed—not much fewer than surgical procedures that year. By 2013, however, nonsurgical procedures had increased over 1,200% to nearly 10 million. Over the same period, surgical procedures also showed a sizable increase, doubling to nearly two million. In both cases, the increase can be attributed to improvements in safety, affordability and convenience.
